Quick Exports are a tool for Motor State dealers to get important information about a variety of subjects, including price changes, discontinued parts, etc. Quick Exports can be found in the Business Tools > Data Export menu.
Motor State Distributing, Inc. offers a paid subscription model for our ‘Data Export’ module which allows dealers to receive scheduled daily exports. There are, however, several ‘Quick Export’ functions that give users important information and are not tied to a subscription… in other words, they are free to all wholesale dealers. You do not have the option to schedule Quick Exports, but you can download the data on demand any time you wish. Currently, all quick exports do a 60-day look back.
Quick Exports are designed to give users data specific to a particular problem or question.
Here is an explanation of all the quick exports which are available:
This gives part number specific data related to price changes. The report returns all part numbers which have had a price change in the last 60 days, including the date the price change took effect (column V).
This quick export gives users data about New Products in the last 60 days. Included in this export are all the new products identified in our Sale Flyer as well as all the part numbers we have received for the first time ever in during the last 60 says. We record the first time we have received an item into inventory and report that as a New Product. This export gives you the date which we received the new product. If an acquired date is not present in the data, it means that part number is identified as New in the current Sale Flyer edition.
This quick export gives you the complete list of current Closeouts. We remove closeouts each night that have reached quantity available of zero. You many see a small number of zeros for inventory; those are the parts which have sold out today and our once a day program has not yet run to remove them from the list.
This quick export informs users when all products which have been deemed obsolete and is superseded by another part number in the last 60 days. This export includes the old part number, the new part number and the data the supersede was introduced.
This quick export informs users of when a part number has been discontinued in Motor State’s system. The status discontinued does not necessarily mean the manufacturer has discontinued the product, but often does. This export tells you the part number, the current status of the part number (after the change), and the date the product was discontinued. Discontinued products stay on the data export subscription until 30 days after the discontinued part number reaches zero quantity available.
This quick export returns information about the Proposition 65 product warnings which have been supplied by manufacturers. For more information about these warnings, where to present them, and Proposition 65 in general, please visit https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/about-proposition-65.
Some individual part numbers are packaged in more than box when they are shipped. This presents difficulty in reporting the weights and dimensions for a product as our regular export has only one field for weight, height, length, and width. This report will tell you how many boxes a particular part number is shipped in and give you the weights and dimensions for each box. This list is limited to individual part numbers which ship in more than one box but excludes ‘build on demand’ kits which are kits built from more than one existing part number.
Motor State offers a sale we call ‘Unbelievable Deals’. This parts included in this sale are updated with each edition of our electronic Sale Flyer which is updated every 60 days. Unbelievable Deals are part numbers which Motor State has surplus inventory. These are not closeouts or obsolete part numbers; they could be A and B movers, which we simply have more supply than we wish to carry. The sale continues until Motor State hits our ‘Sell Down’ quantity. For example, we may have 100of part number XXX123, but we only wish to be carrying 70 of them. We will put30 on sale in the Unbelievable Deals until we reach 70 available and the part will no longer be on sale. All Unbelievable Deals are in the regular data export, but there is nothing (except your cost) to tell you that the part is on sale. This export highlights the part numbers on sale and the data updates once per day (overnight) and provides you the number of units on sale until the part number falls off the sale.
This quick export is designed to be utilized in conjunction with a data subscription. It informs users of when a part number has had a change in category. Category changes are somewhat infrequent, but cause problems because our regular import has no mechanism to tell users a change has taken place. This can cause problems and confusion in the system the data is being imported to, whether it is a point-of-sale system or a web back end. This report returns the part number which have had category changes in order to do whatever cleanup may be required in your other systems.
